Oatmeal Bars
2 cubes (1 cup) of butter/margarine
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp water
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup of chocolate chips, raisins, nuts or whatever you prefer.
Melt butter and add all the ingredients in order. Lightly press the mixture into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 375 for about 15 mins. Enjoy warm from the oven with a glass of milk! so yummy.....
- I like to make this recipe and divide the batter in half between two greased 8x8 pans. Then I put chocolate chips in one pan (for the kids) and raisins in the other (for me and my husband).

ReplyDeleteHi, Just found your blog not too long ago and I love it! :-) I'm inspired to refinish the desk that I use for sewing...it's similar to yours in style, actually, and I'm going to follow your tutorial for redoing it. Yours turned out beautifully and it's so ME! (So YOU, too, I assume! haha) I also have a sort of buffet-type thing I use to hold some of my craft supplies...both of these pieces are all wood and have drawers and cupboard doors that are crying out for the treatment you used with fabric. Just a couple of questions: I noticed in one of the pictures your daughter(?) is putting finishing coats on the drawer fronts. Is she using mod podge or a clear varnish for the top coat? Also, once the top coats are dry, what's the best way to put screw holes in them for the handles? I'm thinking I should just be able to go through the fabric using the point of the screw without making a special hole. What worked for you?
