Chain Gang....Back to School countdown!

You may remember this countdown I posted from May when we were very excited to for Summer Vacation to finally arrive.....Well although I am not ready for school to start back up again I have a kindergartener who CAN'T wait to finally start school. So it's countdown time again!

If your kids haven't already started back to school, this is a great project for them to do!

We choose construction paper in their school colors and cut strips. Then I let them assemble them in any order/pattern they wanted. We used staples instead of glue - it's faster. :)

Then of course we hung it up and they each take turns pulling a link off each day! Easy peasy and fun! enjoy!

  1. What a clever idea. I am going to do that for a countdown until the next time Grandma visits for my little one!

  3. We done this with our son and now daughter is doing her first year and they love it (I did one for each child)

    They look forward to it.

We do the whole month - so they can practice verifying counts from the calendar to the links.

  4. This is a great idea. We made one in our house for my little girl's very first day of school. I can see it being a tradition now. I'm linking.
