2 cubes (1 cup) of butter/margarine
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp water
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup of chocolate chips, raisins, nuts or whatever you prefer.
Melt butter and add all the ingredients in order. Lightly press the mixture into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 375 for about 15 mins. Enjoy warm from the oven with a glass of milk! so yummy.....
- I like to make this recipe and divide the batter in half between two greased 8x8 pans. Then I put chocolate chips in one pan (for the kids) and raisins in the other (for me and my husband).
I revamped my blog playlist to be a shuffled mix of what I like to call "Happy Sunshine-y" summer songs. It makes me feel happy. :) If you have a suggestion of a happy song you like - let me know! Leave me a comment. I would love to add more songs to the playlist.
Spring and Summer always bring out the COLORS too don't they? Not only do the flowers and trees start bursting with colors but fashion/wardrobe seem to follow as well. I've been combining some really fun colorful patterns and sewing up aprons this last week. More to come to my shop next week!
Here's a picture of one I sent off to a lucky blogger for winning a giveaway! See? Happy, bright and colorful! Love it!
Are you tweeting on twitter? Twitter has been all over TV this past week! Oprah and The View both featured it. I love it! If you are on Twitter - let's Tweet! I am over there!
Just a few things this week that have made me feel happy! Hope your week-end if full of "happy" too!
"National Wear your Apron Day is a yearly celebration dedicated to preserving a fun, nostalgic way to display your favorite apron. National Apron Day is celebrated on Monday after Mother's Day. Wear your favorite apron all day. Go ahead! Have fun........" - Michelle D.
I just joined their site and added my "official" National Apron day badge to my blog as well! Should be a fun day to sport my favorite apron and have fun with all the ladies who do as well! Come on over and play too if you'd like!
Strap on your favorite apron and make it a great day.....
Question: "I am a newbie to using patterns. How does an ebook work? I want to purchase the LUCY pattern, but am not sure if I need to go to a Kinkos to enlarge?"
Answer: Great question huh! I hadn't thought about it since I am very familiar with ebooks and what they are, how they function, etc but it hadn't occured to me that some might not be so sure.
In the Lucy Ebook Pattern most the main (large) pieces for the apron you will construct. I provide illustrations, diagrams, measurements, etc and help you step by step. Some of the smaller pattern pieces are provided and you will simply print off, cut out and use.
An ebook requires a bit more "effort" on the customer's end. Someday there will be a printed version of the Lucy Apron with full size pattern pieces to buy. I had several customers "want it now" so that is why I did the ebook first.
Does that help? hopefully.......
I thought I would share a few more "Lucy" photos. There were several photos I just loved from Susan , but had to pick only one for the cover! hummmm..........it's so hard to narrow it down...................
The Lucy Aprons are reversible and they tie back at the waist/hips or the chest - Fun flirty looks!
Want to create your own? You can! The Lucy Apron is available in ebook format for you to sew up!
Looking for a great hostess apron? I've got those too! and it's super "sweet" - Mint Chocolate Chip sweet to be exact.
Be the hostess with the mostess, give a great hostess gift or what about Teacher gifts for the end of the year? This hostess apron is reverisble as well! what's on the other side??? You'll have to head over to my shop to find out!
The threads have been flying around here and there are a few more aprons to come! Don't wait though because these fabric combinations won't be created again!
Enjoy your day! xo ~ Meg

~The LUCY apron - fun, witty and casual. For the woman that doesn't want to sacrifrice her sense of style. ~
I completely *heart* this picture. I have to give a big shout out to Susan for the photos. I have worked with her on several occasions and she never disappoints! I had a really hard time choosing which photo to use but in the end I loved the mood, the coloring and how the model is "framed" by the window. (you know how I love frames!) What do you think? Do you want to see some of the other photos?
and OH my gosh I need to award the winner! ahem, Lucy over at The Dizzled Apple suggested the name "little lucy" which is what gave me the idea and the one that stuck! It just seemed to fit! Congratulations to her! She will be receiving a "Lucy" apron in the mail.
Photofiddle.com is giving one of my lucky readers a $50.00 gift certificate to their site! Photofiddle takes your photos and turns them into art on canvas! I love all the different looks/effects. Photofiddle was even on the Oprahs O list in 2006.
Take a look at how my photo was "fiddled" with :)
Then Photofiddle worked their magic and let me choose which design effect I like the best. I chose the "color pencil sketch" look. They shipped it to me and look at how amazing it turned out!
I chose this photo for the memories it holds for me and the moment it captured. I love the colors and thought it went perfect with the color scheme I already had going in the room. PLUS it brings some spring/summer into the room too!
