If you are ready to get your "Entertaining on" this Summer - heck or anytime of year - you will LOooooVE this book!
You're so invited by Cheryl will have you creating a great meal, a wonderful atmosphere and memories that last a lifetime.
GIVEAWAY - 1 lucky reader wins a signed copy of her book!
I had the opportunity to meet and hear from Cheryl at Snap! the conference in April. She spoke of her desire to share her ideas and create wonderful experiences around food for others that she had experienced in her own life.
"It's not about being perfect....it's about your guests" She told us to take the emphasis off of ourselves and think about how our guests will feel....what do or would they enjoy?

My favorite time of the year to entertain is summer with a pool party. Everything is so much easier when you can be outside.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I agree! I love an outdoor party!
DeleteMy favorite thing to host is a Fourth of July party! I love all the food looking festive, eating out by the fire and gathering everyone together to watch the fireworks! Can't go wrong with a cookout and a celebration of this great land in which we call HOME! *LOVE YOUR BLOG, though I am not usually a commenter* :)
ReplyDeleteHI Abbey! thank you! :)
DeleteMy gma's favorite holiday was the 4th too! So fun to celebrate! everyone is in a party mood! :)
My favorite get together to host is a get together of the "Mag Girls" and the time of year doesn't matter although later summer/early fall is usually a preference so everyone can get together. The "Mag Girls" are 10 of us who worked for the same company over the years, met, and became lifetime friends. It is always potluck so everyone has a chance to bring a favorite recipe or something new they want to try out on us. It's always a great variety as some prefer desserts and others prefer appetizers or main courses. I generally do the meat dish and provide the wine for us. It is great to eat good food, catch up with awesome friends, and for some of us, share crafty projects we have in the works!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tradition and so nice to have a group of friends that like to do that! :) thanks for entering! :)
DeleteWe always do a really fun kidcentric (with lots of adult beverages) Halloween party. It is my favorite to decorate and then have everyone show up in their costumes.

FUN!!! someday I will throw a Halloween party! :)
DeleteWarm weather barbecues are my favourite! In fact, we are hosting one late in the summer to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary! :)
ReplyDeletecongrats on your 20th!!! :)
DeleteI love spring/summer seasons... I love to have a party or gathering outdoors, where the adults can sit and chat in the breeze and keep an eye on the kids running wild in the yard! :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite types too!
DeleteI love to have people in the summer, 'cause we can actually go outside!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! must be something about "lack of space" indoors that makes most people enjoy parties outdoors! :)
DeleteI don't throw many parties because I'm not that creative (which means this book would help a ton!) but when I do it's usually during the summer. I am a California girl so I LOVE summer!! Plus... having a pool party makes the planning easier. :)
ReplyDeleteYou would love this book! and yeah for pool parties! :) enjoy your Cali weather!
DeleteI love to throw dessert parties where everyone brings a dessert to share. I have quite the sweet tooth :)
ReplyDeleteI bet you get some good new recipes that way too! :)
DeleteSummer is the perfect excuse for an awesome barbeque! :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely! :)
DeleteI love summer get togethers and I love hosting Thanksgiving. This book looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I love entertaining in the fall and holidays!
DeleteI really enjoy Christmas Eve get together, there is something very magical about the night Santa will come and just focusing on your guests and not the gifts.
ReplyDeleteSo true! and everyone has the magic of Christmas with them too! :)
DeleteI love summer! We always throw a 4th of July BBQ for my daughter's birthday...it's one of our favorite days!
ReplyDeleteSally
how fun!!!
DeleteAs a kid I loved Halloween. One party I liked best had a kind of progressive dinner. At each step you were given a random utensil, item to eat, and a drink. I remember eating spaghetti noodles with a spoon.

I love hosting bbqs or potlucks during the summer!
ReplyDeleteGive me a perfect summer night with close friends and a fondue set, and I promise to return the favor with a wonderful memory. :)
ReplyDeleteFondue means standing around, conversing, laughing, sharing, smiling, and easy clean up! It is our New Year's Eve tradition we started a few years back! Makes the long hours of waiting go by quickly as each course is set out.
I love hosting parties in the summer months. It's nice to be able to flow outdoors and enjoy games and activites outside!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite party is Halloween - I do hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and desserts, plus a costume contest and lots of dance music!
ReplyDeleteAt our house we love to entertain during the summer especially for Fourth of July. Always have guests over to cook out and enjoy the pool!!
ReplyDeleteI love to party in the fall. We still have good weather, and the harvest foods are delicious.
ReplyDeletea tea party! heatha100@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteSummer for sure! I love a good BBQ and pool party!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, how do I choose?? Every month is party month at my house. Love, love, love to throw parties for all occasions. If I had to choose ONE!, then I would have to say Halloween. It is so fun to get all the decorations out and find fun ideas and get creative. It helps that there is not much to focus on in October either (besides Halloween). Plus you get to come in costume! Total bonus. :)
ReplyDeleteI threw a Halloween party last year for my kids and a few of their friends. They loved it and so did I. I chose a candy corn theme. It was a ton of work but so much fun and totally worth it. I can't wait to do it again this year with a different theme. Would love to get my hands on this book :)
