Summer Journal for kids - yolo!

We usually create Summer Journals every year. This year we are doing something a bit different. It was inspired by the Summer Bucket List on Uncommon (so thank YOU for the inspiration!).

There are lots of Summer bucket lists out there and printable lists of ideas of what to do in the Summer time. We have printed a few of these off to reference for ideas but our list or "journal" is blank!

I created and printed off this sheet. It says YOLO at the top (You Only Live Once) and then "What we did in the Summer of 2012.

Then I have a list of running numbers down the left side and the middle. Each day we will fill 1, 2, 3 or more things we did that day! I let my kids write it in (and I add some stuff too!) and it also helps them see at a glance all the things we have done so far. Some things are bigger than others but it's simply a fun catalog or journal of our daily happenings!

It hangs on our fridge so we can see it everyday! I am excited to see how many activities we can add before Summer is over and school starts again! So far we have 24 spaces filled in and we are only on day 11 of Summer!

So embrace the YOLO enthusiasm and make it a great summer - and no stress journaling too!

I'll be sharing my idea here!
