DIY Owl from Cheryl Style

I met Cheryl this past April at the SNAP! conference and then was able to offer a giveaway here for her new entertaining book. Today she is sharing this tutorial with us! Thanks Cheryl! check her out at Cheryl Style.
Owl Drinking Glass Decorations

What You’ll Need
Felt fabric in two colors
Buttons
Rickrack ribbon
Scissors
Adhesive
Permanent marker
A tall drinking glass

Let’s Do it

Measure and cut a piece of felt that’s large enough to wrap around the drinking glass
with at least one inch of overlap. Place the bottom of your glass in the top-middle of the
felt, and then trace the top of the owl’s head and the inside edges of the ears.

Make two snips to create the outside edge of the triangle-shaped ears, and then cut
away the top and bottom of the felt to create a long, rectangular strip with the owl ears
in the middle.

Cut out a small triangle of felt in an alternate color to serve as the owl’s beak.

Glue the buttons to the felt to create the owl eyes; if desired, stack smaller buttons
inside larger ones to create a 3D effect.

Glue the beak and then the rickrack ribbon to the felt, and then let it all dry.

Wrap the felt around the drinking glass, glue the overlap together (taking care to not
glue the felt to the glass), and then trim away any excess.
