You may have caught my REfashion it episode on this very subject! I’m breaking it down step by step if you’d like to see more!
supplies – tshirt, scissors, frame, small amount of 1 sided fusible ultra firm stablizer, measuring tape, iron
tshirts – think vacations, sports teams, dance teams, sentimental (maybe it was your child’s favorite), maybe it has a favorite symbol or saying on it, etc
**Make sure your saying, graphic, etc on your tshirt fits in the frame or mat opening you are wanting to use.**
Measure the space your tshirt will fill – if your frame has a mat measure the opening and cut your stablizer just slightly larger than the opening on all sides. If your frame has no mat cut your stabilizer to be the same size at the glass.
Flip your tshirt inside out, position the stabilizer on your tshirt where you want it (centering any graphic, etc) and adhere with the iron according to the package directions.
Once it is secured into place cut away the excess tshirt. Applying the stabilizer first helps ensure you don’t cut your tshirt to small, any stretching that may occur or the knit wrinkling and rolling.
Now you have a nice stiff, flat and wrinkle free piece of “art”. Pop it into your frame and/or mat and hang for all to enjoy it!
Have you tried it? Send me a picture or post it to my FB wall!
I’ll be linking up and sharing around the web here!
